Scholastic Drone Sports is a non-profit organization created to introduce students to the world of drones and aviation, while making it affordable to all. Our goal is to connect pilots in an atmosphere of positive team competition, build strong drone pilot skills, and to foster the best aspects of drone sports to middle and high school students. The format is designed to foster individual growth, while building community team competition. Pilots train together supporting individual growth, camaraderie, and healthy connection. It is all about self improvement, not pilots trying to beat each other. Please help us keep the drone sports fun, healthy, and a positive environment.
Our Mission is to…
Encourage well-rounded pilots through flying, hardware, software, aviation laws and safety.
Support all states, regions, schools and individuals trying to develop middle and high school drone programs.
Limit the bureaucracy and simplify the rules as much as possible.
Expand each region by having pilots compete in regular season competitions at different sites. This allows pilots from each region to experience different course styles and environments.
Keep the cost reasonable. While covering costs of the hosting courses, realizing that these events are a service to the community versus deterring pilots because of high entry fees.
Hold events on the honor system of each pilot. Pilots will verify each other without the use of judges.
Hold High School State Championship events that are limited to the best pilots in the state as well as offer an opportunity for developing pilots to compete (Varsity vs. JV waves)
Have a national final limited to the best teams in the country.
